Something broken, or something hard?
Both get answered by a person. Start with the crisis lines if tonight is bad, the FAQ if it’s the app, and email us if neither covers it.
You don’t need to open an app first.
These are free, confidential, and staffed by people whose entire job is this. Using them is not a failure and it is not the end of your streak.
Outside the US? Helplines by country are listed at BeGambleAware (UK) and through your national health service.
Email us. We read all of it.
We aim for one business day. If it’s billing, say so in the subject line and we’ll jump it.
Find the app version in Settings → About. Never send passwords, card numbers, or your Apple ID — we will never ask for them.
The questions people actually send.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Apple runs the billing, so you cancel through Apple. It takes about ten seconds:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the very top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Cold Streak.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Two things to know. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date — Apple charges the next period within 24 hours of the current one ending. And you keep full access until the end of the period you already paid for; cancelling doesn’t cut you off early.
Deleting the app does not cancel anything. That is the single most common billing surprise, and it catches people on every subscription app, not just ours. Cancel first, then delete if you want to.
If you can’t find the subscription, you may have purchased with a different Apple ID. Check apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
Can I get a refund?
Apple processes all refunds for App Store purchases — we aren’t able to issue one directly, even when we’d like to. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find Cold Streak, and choose a reason.
If Apple declines and you believe something genuinely went wrong — a double charge, a bug that made the app unusable — email support@coldstreak.app with the date and what happened. We’ll advocate for you with Apple and do whatever is within our power.
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Install Cold Streak, open it, and go to Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. You must be signed in with the same Apple ID you originally bought with — that is what Apple ties the purchase to.
Restoring brings back your subscription, not your streak. Your recovery data lives on your old device, so export it there first if you still can (see below).
How do I delete my data?
In the app: Settings → Privacy & Data → Erase my data. That wipes everything stored on your phone, and in the same action erases everything on our side — every community post you published, every upvote, every report you filed, and your block list. It happens immediately and tells you what was removed. It cannot be undone.
By email: write to support@coldstreak.app with your in-app handle and we’ll complete it within [30] days and confirm.
Two honest caveats: deleting the app removes your local data but not posts you already published — use the in-app erase or email us for those. And there is nothing to erase for sponsor chat, because we never stored it. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Can I export my data before I delete it?
Yes. Settings → Privacy & Data → Export generates a JSON file on your device with your quit date, streak history, relapse log, money figures, program progress and your “why” note. Do this before you erase or switch phones — we don’t hold a copy we could send you.
What happens if I relapse?
You log it, and the app keeps working. Nothing gets deleted, nothing gets locked, and nothing lectures you.
Specifically: your current streak restarts, but your best streak stays on the screen — 63 days happened and it doesn’t un-happen. The money-kept counter subtracts what the bet actually cost, so the number stays honest instead of flattering you. Your 90-day program keeps your place.
Logging it is worth more than hiding it. The relapse log is what makes your pattern visible — which day, which trigger, which time — and that is the thing you can actually work on.
Does Cold Streak actually block betting apps?
It can block sportsbook apps and websites using Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) framework, which you enable in the app.
Be clear-eyed about what that is. It’s friction, not a wall. It can be turned off, worked around with another device or another browser, and a sportsbook can move to a domain we don’t cover. What it reliably does is add thirty seconds and a decision between the urge and the bet — which is often enough, and is the entire point of the panic button too.
If you need a harder stop, look at state self-exclusion programs and bank-level gambling blocks, which many banks now offer. Those are stronger than anything an app can do from inside iOS.
How is the money-kept number calculated?
From the average weekly spend you entered at onboarding, prorated continuously from your quit date, minus the amounts on any relapses you logged. It never goes below zero and it never counts money you didn’t tell it about.
It is an estimate built from your own figures, not a bank balance. If your weekly number was wrong, fix it in Settings — the counter recalculates from your quit date rather than pretending the past didn’t happen.
Someone in the feed is out of line. What do I do?
Two controls, both on the post itself. Report flags it — when enough different members report the same post it drops out of the feed automatically. Block means you never see anything from that member again, whatever anyone else does.
Posts are also screened when they publish: promo codes, links, sportsbook solicitation, tout services selling picks, and abuse aimed at another member are rejected before they ever appear. What that screening misses, reporting is for.
We are a small team, not a 24-hour moderation desk, so if something needs a human — someone in danger, something the automatic screen clearly should have caught — email support@coldstreak.app and say so plainly. If you or someone in the feed is in crisis, 988 is free and 24/7.
Is my data private? Who can see my relapses?
Nobody, including us. Your quit date, streak, relapse log, money figures, quiz answers and your “why” note are stored and calculated on your phone and are never sent to our servers.
The two exceptions are the features that can’t exist without a server: what you post to the community (visible to anyone using the app) and what you send to the AI chat (not stored — it passes through and is gone). Both are pseudonymous, tied to a one-way hash of a device identifier rather than to you.
We do not sell data, and we will never share anything with sportsbooks, betting affiliates, or ad networks. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Is Cold Streak treatment for gambling addiction?
No. Cold Streak is a habit and discipline app. It is not medical care, not therapy, and not a treatment program, and nothing in it diagnoses a condition. The onboarding score is a self-assessment prompt, not a clinical assessment.
You can use it alongside real treatment, and plenty of people do. We are not going to tell you how well that works — we have no study behind a claim like that, and this page does not print numbers it cannot cite. If you want professional help, start with 1-800-GAMBLER — they can refer you to local counselors and programs, free.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet — Cold Streak is iOS only right now. A meaningful part of the app (Screen Time blocking, the notification behavior) is built on iOS frameworks, so Android is a real build rather than a port, and we’d rather do one platform properly than two badly.
Email support@coldstreak.app to be told when it exists.
I found a bug / I want to suggest something.
Send it to support@coldstreak.app. For a bug, include your device, iOS version, app version (Settings → About), and what you were doing when it broke — that usually turns a week of guessing into an afternoon of fixing.
Feature requests genuinely shape the roadmap. The features people ask for from inside a bad Sunday are better than the ones we invent on a Tuesday.
Still stuck?
Email support@coldstreak.app and describe it however it comes out. You will get a real reply from a person, and nobody here is going to judge the situation you’re writing from.
